Android - Setting Up the Signal App and Joining the Fairways Fellowship Group

1. Install Signal

• Open the Google Play Store.
• Search for Signal – Private Messenger.
• Tap Install.

2. Open Signal

• Tap Open.
• Tap Continue.

3. Allow Notifications

When asked: Allow Signal to send notifications?

Tap Allow.

4. Enter Your Phone Number

• Type your mobile phone number.
• Tap Next.

5. Verify Your Number

• Signal will text you a 6-digit code.
• If asked, type the code.

6. Create Your Profile

• Enter your first and last name.
• Add a photo if you want.
• Tap Next.

7. Create a PIN

• Choose a PIN you will remember.
• Tap Next.

8. Check Your Phone's Notification Settings

Open: Settings → Apps → Signal → Notifications

Make sure Notifications are ON.

Samsung Phones Note: If you do not receive notifications, open Settings → Apps → Signal → Battery and select Unrestricted. This fixes the most common notification problem on Samsung phones.

Do not create or join any groups yet. Send a regular text to Jim to let him know you have installed the Signal app.

Jim will send you a Signal invitation link to join the Fairways Fellowship Golf Group.

When you receive the link:

1. Open the message.
2. Tap the Signal invitation link.
3. Tap Join Group.
